While Mogan Lake is in the south of Gölbaşı district, Eymir Lake is in the north of Gölbaşı district. Both lakes are connected by a concrete canal that cuts the Ankara-Konya highway. The Lake Mogan and Eymir Lake water basin is an ecological system that has a very delicate balance with its water resources, surface forms, ground, and soil structure as well as climatic characteristics and living creatures. The water basin ecosystem forms an integrity with the ecosystem of the South and Southeast Ankara region, which stretches to Tuz Gölü in Central Anatolia.
